Our new little Asian Short-clawed Otters arrived in April 2023 and it was love at first sight!

The female is ‘Pippin’ came from Woburn Safari Park and is three and a half years old. The male is called ‘Katarni’, he’s age three and from Tilgate Park.

They are out and about during the day, eating well, enjoying swimming, playing and Pippin has even started gathering grassy material for the holt (their underground den) which we hope is a good sign for things to come.

Asian Short-clawed Otters communicate in little squeals and are very playful often rolling around with a pebble in their ‘hands’ or digging around a rock.
